For this tutorial you will need to download the KM Player (free and legal), and I will be using Photoshop CS5 (I don’t have a download link, but tumblr is full of them, and if you want to stick to legal, you can always buy it). This tutorial is aimed at complete beginners, so I’m just explaining the absolute basics of gif-making. I will briefly mention the more superfluous things (like colouring and sharpening) but as these aren’t absolutely necessary, I won’t go into too much detail on them. If you want me to make a tutorial on how I colour my gifs, just ask and I’ll make a separate tutorial. Now, on with the gifs!
(note: pretty much everyone makes their gifs slightly differently, and tumblr is full of gif tutorials, so this is just how I make gifs - you might find different methods easier or better - just experiment with different ways of doing things and you’ll find a style that suits you)
Image heavy, because showing is easier than telling. You might want to read through it a couple of times before beginning, just to make sure you understand each step. Make sure you have Photoshop (I’m using CS5, so I’m not sure how applicable this will be to other versions) and the KM Player downloaded before you start.
